In the lake, You will find me. Behind your house, Behind your house. And from that lake I will remind you Of your promises broken, Your cruel words spoken. My ocean is bluer than the heart you had to break; My sea is deeper than your lake-My sea is deeper than your lake.
---
Behind the plastic smile, Nobody knew her true face. Nobody understood that before her supposed friends, she had been happy. Nobody. Nonentity. The Nonentity, her friend, the Nobody. He understood her. He lived in the rabbit hole. At least, that’s what she called it. A swirling black mass that grew slowly. A lake of darkness.
---
In the lake, You will find me. Behind your house, Behind your house. And from that lake I will remind you Of your promises broken, Your cruel words spoken. My ocean is bluer than the heart you had to break; My sea is deeper than your lake-My sea is deeper than your lake.
---
One day, she let word about him slip. Her ‘friends’, the blonde, the brunette, the red headed one, they didn’t know him. They didn’t know Nonentity. They hated him before he was known to them. She finally grew tired of their rude comments about her friend. They couldn’t know him. He was hers-only hers. His beautiful eyes were hers and hers alone to see. An entrancing blue topaz one day, and aquamarine the next. His sandy hair was seen only by her. His perfectly sculpted body was hers alone. He was her only true friend.
---
Take those steps down. Down to the waterside. Drown and hide. How many bodies are buried beneath those rocks? I told you there was one, And now you know whose it is. Mine, mine, mine...
---
She disappeared into the lake one day. Nonentity was her only guide, there was no light. He had taken her home. She didn’t like his home. It was always raining, almost impossible to stay afoot. Her legs were bruised before they walked farther than twenty feet. Before an hour was over, she noticed it becoming lighter. A makeshift home towered just feet over their heads. Nobody politely shoved her into his house. She missed her friends. Through the house he lead her to another door. Light poured from a window. She opened the door, eagerly. Stupidly. Another lake of darkness was there. This one, he did not lead her through. This one he watched her drown in.
---
Goodnight, Nonentity whispered.
---
In the lake, You will find me. Behind your house, Behind your house. And from that lake I will remind you Of your promises broken, Your cruel words spoken. My ocean is bluer than the heart you had to break; My sea is deeper than your lake-My sea is deeper than your lake. My sea is deeper than the lake behind your house. Behind your house, Behind your house, Behind your house...
